![]() I’m trying to help the student find their own inner strength without being reliant on outside validation and approval. There is an art to that as well,how to acknowledge by observing and sharing without it being a judgment call. It’s an art in itself to look for ways to encourage people through positive comments etc. I’m talking about inspiring others to go beyond what they think they can do, or inspiring others to help clean up our planet… as an artist and teacher… I’m looking for ways to acknowledge my students and encourage them to see their strengths and what they may have accomplished in a drawing instead of focusing upon what they didn’t do well in their eyes. I am so appreciative of I can positively impact others through my words and actions. Jim Freeheart: At this point in my life, nothing is more important. How important is using your life to make a difference in the lives of others? Why? For me all of these things provide powerful inspiration on my art as a skier. ![]() The nature, gifts and talents I have been given feed my inspiration to help others find a beautiful existence in health and in wellness. I find this between myself and when I am on the snow covered mountains somewhere in Switzerland, or when it is just me in the ocean performing a workout. There is a beautiful art form that takes place, like no other, when you find a shared unicity between nature and yourself as a human being. For there is an art in everything that comes with it. Jared Ravizza: I consider my career as a skier, health and fitness as the art form of my life. In a similar way, color that contrast one another is similar. I attempt to show that movement and three dimensionality in the balance between lights and darkness. I love the play of light on water especially but on any object… The dance of light and shadow and that’s mostly what I try to capture in my drawings and paintings. I am in awe at the incomprehensible diversity and beauty of our planet! Throughout my day, I’m always stopping to gaze at clouds, trees, flowers … I look at the ocean waves, and the movement of waves… Imagining how I might render it in my next painting.
